Calling all gardeners, green thumbs, and nature enthusiasts!
The grant will fund approximately 30 trees in the Old Southeast. While this is GREAT news, we need YOUR help to complete the next phase. Join OSNA in this neighborhood beautification project by volunteering a few hours to complete the neighborhood tree inventory (it’s easy and fun!)
Trees add many benefits to communities, from providing shade and reducing surface temperatures, preventing topsoil runoff during storms, attracting desirable wildlife, adding natural sounds and beauty, improving air quality, increasing market value, and so much more.
Terms of the grant include a community tree inventory to be completed for the entire neighborhood by 8/15. Trees are to be planted on the public right of way. The trees are to be watered by property owners and to be planted prior to mid-November.
Before we can get to planting and sprucing up the neighborhood with the new shady trees this fall, we are in need of the following:
- 14 VOLUNTEERS to help with tree inventory by 8/15
- Volunteers will be trained in how to conduct the tree survey. Attend training on 8/10 at 6 PM or 8/11 at 10AM Training will be in person at Chattaways parking lot near 22nd and Florida Ave S
Donate a few hours of your time to help OSNA complete this important neighborhood project! To sign up, fill out the volunteer form by clicking here.
